Alma Loretta Polar (left) and Leona Eleanor Polar: sisters, teachers, friends in one of my favorite photographs. Alma would marry Harley Space and became my maternal grandparents. Great Aunt Leona, a family treasure who filled in the many gaps and holes in our family history. To this day, whenever I uncover a new family find my first reaction is to call Aunt Leona followed immediatley with the thought that she and Gram all ready know.
